Learn to Skate
IceWorld offers a broad spectrum of ice skating programs for all ages and abilities. We are also home to the Chesapeake Figure Skating Club, a locally run, non profit organization dedicated to advancing the sport and art of figure skating here in north central Maryland.
IceWorld offers a comprehensive group lesson program for youngsters age 4 and up, including adults. Our philosophy is to provide top notch, professional
instruction for beginner through advanced skaters in a relaxed and fun environment. Learn to Skate is based on the fundamentals of the U.S. Figure
Skating Association (USFSA) and is necessary for those wishing to proceed on to ice hockey or freestyle.
Share the Fun of Ice Skating With Your Children! Great for ALL Children. Music, Fun, Games and Instruction on the Ice. Enjoy the ice without the crowds!
If you used to skate in childhood, or have always wanted to, we have a program for you! Professionals conduct lessons on
Sunday evenings in the spring, Thursday evenings in the summer. Beginners welcome - bring a friend!
Freestyle Lessons are for individuals who have completed IceWorld's LEARN TO SKATE program or have passed all of their USFSA Basic Skills. The new Artistry In Motion or AIM program is designed to educate skaters on the principles and philosophy of choreography and style. The program will give them a foundation in basic body alignment, movement and line.
Ice World's mini-camp program is a unique opportunity to increase competency through a program of class exercises, and a supportive team approach to improving skills. Held on days when schools are out...
IceWorld is proud to extend a unique opportunity to learn the fun and
exciting sport of Synchronized Team Skating! In this 2008 season, the
team will perform the five basic elements of synchro (line, block, wheel,
intersection and circle) during a program set to music.
